Are you having a good monday my dears? I had a very boring day, meetings all day long, that's why I'm posting so late :-(

One of my favorite movies from all times is the "Dead poets society" where they say this amazing quote "O Captain! My Captain!" from Walt Whitman's Leaves of Grass poetry collection. I've must have seen this movie more then 20 times. Is that to geek? I hope not because this movie is really a wake up call.

What better thing than choose strong & powerful nautical trends to show that , at least occasionally, we should be the captains of our own lives.

I started a mirror makeover that I found on my own street some weeks ago & it's getting just the way I had imagine it.

How was your weekend my dear readers? I had a very important weekend myself...

My youngest daughter turned 3 years old. Our family & friends joined at our home for the birthday party. She was incredibly happy playing with all her cousins in the courtyard.

I tried to make her birthday cake. I don't know what happened, the cake was a mess & had to go buy one in a hurry to the pastry shop. It was the first time that something like that happened to me, I usually am a pretty good pastry chef.

For this week I prepared a mix of green moss & purple. Hope you enjoy!

How was your weekend? Spring has arrived, the sky is blue, the sun is shinning, temperatures are cool.

I teached my youngest daughter how to float in the water & she loves it, my oldest daughter spent the weekend improving her skills with her roller blading. We met with some friends to eat tipical portuguese snacks & drink beer. It was a nice weekend.

This week I decided to keep talking about the Etsy sellers who are trying to help Japan in this time of need by donating their proceeds to Humanitarian Organizations!

I should have posted the Etsy treasures column yesterday, but I had a crazy day at work & then the internet access was so unstable that it was totally impossible for me to manage what I had in mind. So... sorry for the lack of posts yesterday, ok?!

This week we are celebrating St. Patrick's Day so what better then do a treasure in shades of green to awaken the Irish spirit!

In Portugal we don't celebrate St. Patricks, we celebrate other saints & I'm sure I'll talk about them when the time comes, but in the US it's a tradition, right?

My weekend was pretty good, even though we had some rain it's not so cold anymore.

I had a great weekend, the sun was shinning, I can hear the birds while I'm drinking my morning coffee {the first sign that Spring is just around the corner}.

I was interviewed & photographed for a weekly newspaper & I had my mother's birthday lunch on Sunday. She's 71 now & I still feel that she has so much to teach me.

Influenced by the Oscar's ceremony glamor I decided to make a treasury of black & gold shades. What do you think? Would you combine these pieces for a night out with the gals?

How are you all doing today my dears? How was your weekend?

Mine was very good, I had an experimental swim class with my youngest daughter & she loved it, it was fun to be in the water with her helping her float. I'm also very proud of my oldest one because she had a birthday party & when I asked her what did she wanted to buy for her friend, expecting that she would say "this toy or that toy" she answered "a children's book".

This week I decided to make a treasure about brown shades, knits & leather wich I think go together naturally. Let me know what do you think?

Etsy is this biiiiiiiiiig place, full of great artisans, artists, vintage sellers, etc, etc, where you can easily find something you love, but at the same time it can be hard & time consuming to find things to coordinate with the one that you enjoyed in the first place.

I'm trying to easy that task for you, the starting point is picking something from my shop & then spent a few hours, and I really mean a few hours, searching for other pieces to combine.
